I thought it was legal to block when it was thrown behind the line too. I'm not saying I can't be wrong.

Can't block downfield in the NFL until the ball is caught. Doesn't matter where the ball is thrown.

ETA: you can be downfield, just not engage in a block.

It was a timing thing designed in the play I think. Graham just blocked too early. Had he not blocked and Sproles got hit and fumbled you'd be pissed that he didn't block at all.

Ball was thrown behind the line but it was a forward pass. Also lineman can't be downfield, receivers can be down field but can't block until the ball is possessed by another receiver

This...this isn't college football. And even in college that could've been called a pick play, offensive PI.

So the defensive player can put their hands on a receiver 5 yards from the LOS, but an offensive player can't block until the ball is caught? That makes no sense

Sproles could have scored 3 times before that defender touched him. Jimmy just wanted to hit someone and he did it too early. Had he just stood there with his big arse self, no penalty, same impact on mr. Irrelevant defender man.

. The block was inconsequential to the play.

That is the college rule dude. In the nfl you can't block till ball is caught.

Graham made a mistake. He better get his arse open and not drop anything in the second half. We'll need it.

Not so sure. Witherspoon was in pursuit

Had it been a lateral it would have been legal. It was behind the LOS but it was a forward pas
