Apparently Michael Jordan's recent fashion blunder caused him to get banned from a South Florida golf course.

quote:

During a recent trip to the ritzy 18-hole course at La Gorce Country Club , MJ was asked to change his cargo shorts on the 12th hole, but refused. The club's rules clearly state all golfers are required to wear a collared shirt and bermuda shorts while playing.

"Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants . . . He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code.

Rules are rules but isn't it a good thing to have some celeb publicity at your golf course?

So, instead of letting a super celeb get away with wearing cargo shorts, they decide his money isn't worth it?

Good for the club holding their ground. I bet anything he's done stuff like this at the course before. Whether its dress code violation or just ignoring other rules he doesn't like. The course probably decided enough was enough and didnt want to deal with him anymore. Good for them

i think MJ is more than "some celeb"

he's the greatest basketball player ever.

i'm sure Babe Ruth used to walk around and do whatever he pleased.

I think this was a bad business decision.

I havent read this thread but it sounds like it could have been handled better. Why the frick go out to the 12th hole and frick with Jordan? Whats he supposed to do, change behind a tree?

Wait until the round is over then speak to him privately.

There has to be more to this story.

Ahhh La Gorce, my fav lil island neighborhood in Miami. Those people are loaded to the tilt, they DGAF if you're Michael Jordan or the King of Jordan.

$15MM is entry level real estate there. They've diversified to reflect Miami's expat $. Memberships are $80K. It's one of the areas in the country where you can triple your $ on a house if you stay firm on your price and wait on a buyer. Just about every house on the island is on the market, waiting for the schmuck that absolutely has to live there and wants to buy their way into the Miami scene.
