Re the comment "CLM whoring out". Then what the hell do you call Nicky, who did this every yr, EVERY YR, he was at LSU. And it mite be noted, his name keeps coming up for other HC positions, every yr he's been at bama. If you accuse someone of CLM's character & reputation of being a whore, then I am clueless as to what to call Nicky. And Urban Myers. etc etc etc. Do you honestly think Nicky does not use his even greater leaverage to get more money? Of course he does. The nature of the beast. And FWIW: the original "leak" came from an Arkansas blogger, who, no doubt, CLM and or his agent knows personally. Just when I think the anti Miles' crowd has reached the bottom of the barrel, this pops up.

Just because the school offered him a job, doesn't mean he entertained it. Even if he did, I don't blame him.
If I have a rock, and I bought it for $5, it's a 5 dollar rock. If someone comes to me and says i'll give you $100 for that rock, that is now a $100 rock.
I don't think Arky really wanted Les, they just wanted to show they can throw the money around needed for a top tier coach. If people saw that Les Miles was interested in leaving (not true) LSU for Arky, then maybe Arky is worth coaching. It was a win for Arkansas and it is now a huge win for Les Miles.

Dan Patrick's an idiot. So anytime a successful coach even talks to another school, they should be fired? They shouldn't even respond to other school?
Successful coaches get offers occasionally. It'll happen again.

Miles hadn't gotten a frickin raise since 2007. He won the SEC Championship and went to the National Championship game last year. He deserved a raise last year but didn't get one.
Just because you expected to go undefeated and we fell short of that does not mean Miles did not deserve a raise.

Which in all likelihood he was planning to do anyway. Discussions were already underway. It wouldn't be a surprise if the raise had already been worked out in principal before hand. It wasn't that large a raise under the circumstances, even without any influence from Arkansas, and he was going to get a raise regardless. No reason to believe that he wouldn't be in line for a raise, and since he hadn't had one in 5 years, the size of the raise is not out of line. The Arkansas issue has been blown way out of proportion and is being used as an excuse to bash Miles. In truth, the Arkansas business was not likely to have been a big issue in the negotiations.
