we have won the west 3 times since we have joined the league. If we get a good coach maybe we can get there again. LSU insecure fans are insecure.

if i'm not mistaken, (going on feeble memory), but lsu has only won the west 4 times in that same time frame. just a single one more than arkansas.

...i shot a text to my sports medicine doctor friend over in arkansas last night asking him about the current state of the coaching dealio there... this was his reply>
"The university is trying very hard to land Petersen who is entertaining the Arkansas offer and weighing it against others, but the Arkansas job is not a real easy sell right now and we could easily wind up with a "Sonny Dykes type" coach. That is to say, a younger guy who's had success that's mostly off the radar at a lower tier program. That sort of hire is a real crapshoot, but it could turn out to be ok in the longrun..."

...sources that are inside the Razorback Foundation are confirming Petersen has agreed to be Arkansas' new coach. likely to be presented to the media Tuesday night (just as I said a week ago) during the Arkansas vs Oklahoma game at Bud Walton Arena.
what many here didn't understand is the power brokers that were involved. when you have the Tysons, Reynolds, Lindseys, and Waltons saying to Jeff Long, "Go get Petersen, we will write the check for whatever it takes", you have clout, big clout.
Max Guru knows a thing or two.
