Let's talk about MAC football and the BCS; Conspiracy?

Based on hearsay and conjecture, and also on guy I know who's an AP voter, I foresee a conscious effort taking place to either place a MAC team (presumably Kent St.) in the BCS or deny them a shot. According to this guy, many (in the AP at least which does not count but apparently has influence) want to see Kent State create chaos. Some apparently are against it in big way as well.
Kent St. is 18 in the Harris, 19 in Coaches and 18 in AP. Their computer rank in 18 and BCS Rank is 17.
It basically comes down to UCLA losing (16 in BCS (17 & 16 in polls and 15 in computers) and have a significant lead on Kent. Oregon St. plays Nicholls, Clemson is off, maybe FSU could lose to an awful GT team.
If UCLA wins, all bets are off, but if the Bruins win and Kent wins, it could get interesting.
Also, I looked at Northern Illinois' schedule and they are 1 point away from an undefeated season. In week 1, down 5, Iowa scored the go ahead TD with 2:15 to play to take a 1 point lead. Just before the TD, NIU only managed a 34 yard kick, then gave up 11 yards on return. Damn that punter.

Dammit!

Jordan Lynch will be too much for Kent State to handle and the status quo will remain the same.

I could talk MAC football all day. I love the stuff. But I'm not really buying your conspiracy here. Mainly in that it's premised on Kent State beating Northern Illinois in the MAC championship, and I don't think that's going to happen. I have Northern Illinois on the ML.

Sure, if Kent St doesn't win, it's all for not. Like I said, I think if they win, whatever happens in the polls will be a decided and orchestrated event; either they're in convincingly or out convincingly.

Based on the current BCS standings, and their trend the past few weeks, it would be very difficult to imagine Kent State being kept out of the BCS should they win and UCLA lose, save some conscious effort by the pollsters to keep them out.

I like MAC football (because of gambling) and I like watching Jordan Lynch. NIU and KSU are great mid majors.
However, I think they would get blown out by the majority of the Top 15. Kent St. got blown out by Kentucky this year.
The athletes just aren't there... the BCS would be better off MAC-less.
