Several people have commented about the lack of variety on "classic rock" stations. This is where the problem lies. You have to actually listen to whole albums to get a feel for the greatness that is there. The really good stuff rarely gets played on the radio. According to most classic rock stations, Grand Funk RR only recorded one song (American Band).

I'll add my .02 into the Floyd discussion
Pink Floyd is in my top 5, but "Money" is a song that makes me want to bang my head against a brick wall. It's the only song I skip on Dark Side of the Moon. I flat out don't like the song.
