Do we have a ND vs. Stanford rematch in the title game?

Their resume will be better than both Bama and UGA's.

Not even joking, but the irony of the situation is hilarious.

They will have had the best loss. Remember, that was the key for Bama getting in last year.

They will have beaten more top 50 teams than both UGA and Bama.

why? they would have a better loss than both Bama and UGA and they would have beaten more top 50 teams than either of them also.

That was enough to get Bama in last year. At least Stanford won their conference.

False

However, if Stanford had started Hogan the entire year instead of Nunes, they're likely undefeated. Nunes was absolute garbage.

False.

If that happens, they still have Nunes as their starter and likely lose to Oregon.

I want to agree, but Hogan was pretty damn young to start the season. Maybe he wouldn't have beaten USC. Who knows?

That's one good point to make. But, it's not like Hogan was the reason they beat Oregon. It was running game and defense. So, let's assume they still beat Oregon adn UCLa twice. Do they get in?

Why? I've already said their loss is better than UGA and Bama's. They have a better resume....And they actually will win their conference unlike Bama from last year.

Is it because they aren't SEC, so they shouldn't get in?

Actually they would have the best argument. Probably a better one than Bama last year considering they lost on that controversial goal line no TD call

Exactly. Plus, their argument would be automatically better than Bama's last year because they actually won not only their conference, but also their division.

The SEC has the benefit of the doubt and built up equity that other conferences don't have even if the numbers point towards others having a more difficult schedule (see Bama/OSU last year). Simply the reality of winning a bunch of titles in a row.

Nunes was bad, but UW has a top 15 pass defense in the country. The key to the game was UW's run defense. Stanford only had 65 yards rushing and 2.3 ypc. Hogan may have helped the rushing a little bit, but I think that game was more of UW playing out of their mind at home rather than Stanford going full retard.

No, the SEC would have been given the benefit of the doubt. But you're right, their resume would make them more deserving since their loss would have been the best loss of the bunch.
