Wait, you seriously believe this.

Yes, the JJ/JL saga last year and the lack of killer instincts this year when we were one first down away to compete in the SECC and a possible MNCG second year in a row.

I am saying that coaches are paid quite a bit ! Maybe too much.

Their pay is dictated by their market. If your father were Les Miles, would you think it fair if he were paid the same salary as a milk truck driver?

Recruiting is needed but his coaching ability is lacking. Les record is good but he screwed the last two years up badly. LSU got lucky to win in 2007 with two losses.

Les makes more in one calendar year, than my father did in 35 years loading and unloading a milk truck. Enough is enough.

Oh come on, kid! I remember people saying this when coaches salaries reached $50,000 a year. There's fair market value; Les should fight to get it, and LSU should pay it.

Absolutely not. I just think Miles' job description is vastly overpaid even though other similiar coaches are being paid an equal amount.

FMV isn't necessarily what some desperate outlier is willing to pay for Miles's services. What if LSU feels that Miles isn't worth 5.25 MM per year?

How much would you pay Les right now based on his performance (over the past three years ?)

He has a contract. LSU should not cave to this garbage, if true.

If we're going to pay 5.5M a yr I want Gruden, or Cowher, or freaking Sean Payton.
LSU would happily pass along any salary increase to the season ticket holders. As long as there is a waiting list for tickets, it's no skin off their back.

Miles should do what's best for him and his family. He is crapped on often enough here. With his record he can pick his school and his salary, no matter what the Rantards say.

There are schools begging for a coach like him and would welcome his quirky ways and pay him well.

If he leverages this deal for money to stay here then good for him. He leaves for more money he deserves it and I will wish him well. I can assure you that LSU will cringe when they play him. More often than not he will win.

They're going to do that even if Miles took a pay cut.

IT kills me, the lack of faith in LSU from supposed LSU fans.

Arkansas will not win consistently against LSU for a minimum of 10 more years.

Dont mean to disagree and certainly understand what you are saying but Les Miles is not above the LSU program. No one in Baton rouge has crapped on he or his family. From what I have always heard , he and family have been treated like royalty by all surrounding Businesses and establishments. i believe LSU will survive with or without him.

Why on earth would you think Les would go there

Because winning would be fun there, not just the stay of execution it is here. He'd be a god for going 10-2 at Arkansas, here fans act like we went 5-5. If he can win at Arkansas, he can tell all the people that ever doubted him to go frick themselves, and we know it's very possible to have good teams there. Because they're going to pay him an extra million dollars, I'd take a 25% raise if i felt I wasn't appreciated at my current job. Because it's not Michigan. Because he'd have an established recruiting pipeline, with h.s. coaches he already knows right next door in two of the most fertile states in the country.

Believe me dude, there're reasons. (in my Walter Sobchak voice)
