Don't know how much but it's something to think about. With the way JFF has performed this season I can see him staying instate.

Wing, Allemon, and OBJ are pretty good IMO

Wing and Alleman have both regressed from last year.
While our return game is better than our kicking, OBJ had 2 REALLY good punt returns all year but he wasn't great for pretty much all of the year.

And apparently everyone is overlooking how much our kick and punt coverage has digressed since last year. Still waiting to see on McGaughey...

Wing is back to his old kicking form but needs good coverage to make him look even better.

The reason for both issues is TM7 - we have no player of his calibre this year, one player can make the difference in having consistent position within or near the 10 yard line.

He was helping the kickers/punters have a good game as well doing a great job on punt returns.

Teams who have that one player with IT always shine that particular year(s) in their special teams.

Shea Dixon?@Sheadixon: LSU coaches Thomas McGaughey and Adam Henry are in Texas today to see five-star ATH Ricky Seals-Jones. A&M vs Tigers battle.

Saw that on twitter earlier. Good to see we're hanging in there, despite the "he's all aTm" rumors.

I don't understand the rsj negativity, isn't basketball still a factor in our favor?

or do you think aTm wins 10 games if JFF gets hurt for an extended period of games or the season?

sorry for the thread hijack, but, how many games does LSU win without Mett?

I ask because I am pretty sure that most arguments for bringing RSJ to LSU are solid. Playing the "what happens to you if Johnny F gets hurt" probably isn't the best argument. A&M has proven they can win with an untested red-shirt freshman. LSU, not so much.

10 games, all the local writers say Rivers is just as talented

LSU, not so much

how would A&M do if they lost 3 starters on the O-Line?

THIS is a very valid question. I agree there.

I just don't think you can go with the "if Johnny gets hurt, A&M is sunk" argument. Personally, do I think they would be, yeah. Actually, I think Johhny Football suffers the same fate as Denard Robinson over the next couple of years.

But - trying to use a potential what-if Johnny got injured argument probably isn't a solid argument.

O-line depth discrepancies, absolutely.

hard to say without seeing Rivers, but Mett wasn't asked to do much this season, whereas most of A&M's production was directly attributable to JFF

Will find out next year because both of there tackles top ten picks in the draft.

I was talking about during the season injuries not attrition

I'm pretty sure they don't say that. At all. The local writers see about 20 minutes of practice which amounts to little more than stretching, warmups and Big Cat drill.

he's the first LSU QB to throw for 250 in 3 straight SEC games since the 90s, iirc. including 300 vs bama.

I'm not saying he carried our team this season, but he was more than just a "game manager" in a few games this year. Dont cut Mett short on his performance this year. He didnt get babied the whole season like AJ Mccarron does.

No, that's exactly how much they see in preseason. In fact before the Mathieu suspension/kicking off news broke, Miles the entire practice off to the media. I'm not sure he reopened it during the season at all.

you have no clue what you are talking about. Yes practice was closed after Mathieu got kicked off but not before. Nola.com and the Advocate give detailed practice reports
