Heading down to New Orleans this weekend with my wife and kids. I think we may be hitting up this place before bowling Friday night. Any recs? The oyster/bacon poboy was looking tasty.

shrimp and grits is good, very rich, but good. i had a redfish special that was crusted in zapp's potato chips. interesting take, but was disappointing overall for what i paid. Stick with stuff on the menu. overall a good place, but it gets VERY crowded on a friday night.

It's a good neighborhood place. You won't be disappointed with a poboy. As mentioned, though, it does get very crowded on the weekend, so get there early if you're heading to rock n bowl after. Parking can be tough there.

I was in there a few weeks back. BBQ shrimp app was a rip-off, though tasty. I had the pork chop and it wasn't anything special. My girlfriend had the duck salad and it was pretty good. Overall we had a meh experience. Probably won't go back as it's pricey for what you get.

funny because it was NEVER like that until post katrina when they built that new place. They used to be a great little dive cafe. Now they are trying to be almost close to fine dining.

The burgers are pretty damn good. They get their beef from a local source and it is grass fed.

Not a fan. Grass fed means too lean and a weird flavor.

Oh well, a difference of opinion on a message board. That is why I hate the "what is the best place for ____ in BR/NOLA" threads. It should be titled "what is your favorite place for ____."

Thanks, I'll probably either go with the burger or oyster poboy

It's dinner only. They haven't served breakfast since before Katrina. The place is completely different now and not even in the same building. It's a higher priced neighborhood place these days.
