The problem with this is that "brilliant play call" doesn't necessarily mean "gimmick play". In fact, it almost never does. Brilliant play calls are the calls that anticipate the defensive set and utilize a non-gimmicky, but perfectly unexpected offensive play in response. There were a good number of those. But unless your'e attuned to seeing the brilliance in something other than backyard gimmicks, you'll miss them.
Oh, and it's "hook and ladder", a play on the name for a certain type of firefighter company and the play itself, which calls for a hook pattern followed by a lateral.
