I like how Kirk said how many times have we seen a team with a 40 day layoff who hears they have no chance come out and whip the other team.

I agree whole heartedly. FL didn't always look great but they beat a far more difficult schedule than Bama and the only significant common opponent actually won the game on the road. Clearly should be #2.

strictly talking about championship games I can think of a grand total of 2 times this has happened in the BCS era.
OSU 02, and UF 06.
So yeah, clearly happens in this situation all the time.
