Would you be disappointed if Steve Carell doesn't appear in at least the series finale? I was just having this conversation with a roommate, and I say yes.

Yes. I love the office and while it's not nearly as good since he left, I still find it enjoyable to watch.

I hope he comes back for a 4-5 episode arc to end the show.

That's what I'm hoping, but I'd be happy with just the finale. I feel like if he doesn't even show up the finale, it was be a complete failure.

I actually hope he doesn't come back. He had his story line, he ended it, and they gave his character a great send off.

Bringing him back does nothing to end the show.

Let it die.

The show makes me sick to my stomach already... so if Michael doesn't show up in the series finale, that'll just solidify my decision not to buy season 9... i'm not buying season 8 either because of his departure... unless it goes on sale for 5 bucks

My dream idea is that while Michael is away he did something really successful that caught the attention of David Wallace. Andy is doing such a terrible job that he is eventually fired or he loses it and quits. Due to Andy's incompetence Sabre begins to go under and the characters again fear for their job. In the end the company gets turned around and it is revealed to be Michael that saved Sabre. While Michael does not return to the Manager position he is given a high level position running the company.

I think it would be great to see that while Michael was away he got married, became a father, and ultimately became a very competent person.

It would confirm what most of us still-loyal-to-the-show fans already know, the show died when he left and we are like Norman Bates.

I would be disappointed but also I'd say I'd be more upset that Steve carell didn't show respect to the show that made him to make an appearance

i dont agree with this at all

and it may not be his fault if the writers dont write him in nothing he can do about it.

It would make the finale more relevant and if the finale is about the closing down of that office, it would make sense for Michael to want to show up.

If its just a few characters quitting and the office and Dunder Mifflin stay open, I see no logical reason for Michael to be there. Story-wise that is.

If you think the writers/network wouldnt want him to come back there's something wrong with you

Obviously I wouldn't be upset with him if he didn't return because he wasn't invited. Thought that was implied.

The show absolutely needs to end with a "that's what she said." Or someone says something that can be taken in a sexual nature and Michael turns to the camera and just smiles. Fade to black.
