I know this has been thrown out there but Texas has been a .500 football team at best since the NC game against Bama.

The Texas faithful do not except .500 in football. Will he be forced out next year? This year has too many high profile jobs just in the SEC available.

I have read that he is out at the end of the year probably forced to retire. Supposedly he and dodds got into a huge fight

Texas is 4-8 in home conference games in the last three years. Four and f*cking eight. And consider that record obviously does not count any game against OU.

My personal hope is that Mack and Dodds resign after Kstate, agrees to coach whatever crap bowl we're in, while a new coach is hired to come in, assess the situation, clean house if needed, and recruit (a la the Ohio State deal of last year...it's unfair, but if they got it we should too).

Unfortunately I don't think that's guaranteed at all, especially if somehow, miracle upon miracles, Texas beats Kstate (it won't happen). Mack may be stubborn enough to not go quietly and I don't think enough big boosters are lined up against him right now (they may be depending on the KState outcome).

I'm not making the call on whether Mack is gone or not after this year, but it wont be because he's forced out

if he leaves, it's under his own volition, OR the powers that be somehow find a way to force Deloss out

It'll be easier to move Dodds than Brown

I hear a good bit of solid info from time to time, and while there's no consensus, the general feeling (from a good conversation last nite) is that Mack coaches one more year and steps down. I'm not sure if everyone is aware of just how bad of a taste Muschamp had when he left for Florida, I doubt if he'll come back. He also burnt a few bridges on his way out, it may be that his candidacy would be blocked or at least hindered by some in Belmont
