Every year i listen to alice's restaurant, which was passed down to me by my parents. I also watch the last waltz which was filmed on thanksgiving.

When I walked into my parents house this morning I was greeted with the sound of Van Morrison pouring throughout the house. I can vividly remember waking up to music playing every single weekend and holiday as a child. But it wasn't the sound that got me it was the sight. The sight of my 5 year old niece standing on my mothers feet as they danced around the kitchen while the smells of ham and dressing wafted through the air. Just as I can remember doing with my grandmother.

My brother and dad were sitting at the kitchen table smiling and drinking a beer just as I can remember my uncles doing when I was a child.

It was a special moment for me. The kind of moment that makes this life something truly indescribable.
