When you can't find any other excuse, play the race card.

Plus he never won anything signficant in all of his many years, if anything he was not dismissed SOONER, because of race.
But look at Baldwin!
Pokey got thousands, after her own choice to resign....

This really disappoints me. I worked with Tony while I was a student at LSU. He was regarded as a good guy by everyone in the department. He made the NCAA tourney several years in a row and gave you everything you would want in an Olympic program as an AD. But the handwriting was on the wall for several years as the performance slipped to the bottom of the league. He was warned for several years that they needed to improve and he knew the axe was coming. To claim race is asinine and makes him look like a bitter, petty little man.
ETA: In fact I'm pretty sure that was the first ever black head coach at LSU. It's ashame that he mars that title with this stunt.

This one was a real head scratcher. Completely incompetent, inept head coach, but "gets paid" because of his race.

Wasn't his brother Pat Minnis a local sportscaster with WBRZ?

stunts like that probably won't encourage LSU or any other school to hire more black head coaches.

And we all know racism does not exist. Never has.

I'm not sure about Pat, but his brother Josh was a local sports radio talk show host for a while.

of course racism exists. but it exists BOTH ways. minority protection of rights, however, is designed to prevent legal and job discrimination based on race and is probably the most abused part of civel rights. to state otherwise is just wrong. i don't know the details of this situation so i reserve stating my opinion but as a retired employer i will say that possible future frivilous lawsuits is indeed a consideratin when hiring a minority. most insurance companies like to just "settle" these and therefore your premiums are higher and the cost to fire said minority is very high. the "race card" hurts minorites because so many are just bull shite looking for cash. minorities, as a group, are hurt because some of their individuals screw the system. fact.

job discrimination
Good points Gramps.
The EEOC will bankrupt a small business quickly. They are nothing more than a shakedown agency who will bully a business into settling to avoid the legal fees and pad publicity.

What percentage of minorities file discrimination lawsuits against employers? 1% or less? So you discriminate against all minority job seekers becasue of the 1%?
It is bullshite for you who have never experienced discrimination. How would you know if a minority experienced racial discrimination? Are you aware there is a documented history of racial discrimination against minorities that has not just disappeared?
The fact is it is much more wide spread than most would admit. It has been shown time and time again. It is well documented. But there is a group that always demonize those who would suggest it exists. Your comments show that you would discriminate against a minority job seeker based on some factually unsupported claim that minorities file discrimination suits and some bizaar notion that you can't fire a minority. I am sure many fired minorities were unaware of that fact.

If I had so many losing seasons in recent memory as he did, I'd have resigned out of embarrassment.
He was good originally, but he got complacent and didnt think he would be held accountable for losing.
Color me shocked, he's playing the race card
