Viagra is a lifestyle choice and I don't believe it is covered by most insurance companies

ETA: I don't think there should be a mandate for birth control or any drug for that matter. If it's something the company wants to negotiate into their coverage then fine. If they don't, then that's fine, too.
Freedom of contract FTW. Individuals should be allowed to choose a plan that best suits their own needs.

You guys have largely missed the point. It's not necessarily about if Viagra is covered, that's great that a lot of insurance companies don't cover it. The point is this; why is it okay for traditional republicans to bad mouth birth control being covered, yet ignore things like Viagra. The birth control issue was blown up in the media and made a big deal about, guys like O'Reilly went on big tirades about birth control. He doesn't want to pay so that lil miss skank can get filled up with man juice. Yet it's okay for an old man to get Viagra covered. But, it would behoove republicans (who complain about welfare) to supply birth control. Why? Because that means less babies coming into this world to mothers that can't financially support them. There is a huge hypocrisy in calling out birth control and not Viagra.

Viagra shouldn't be covered. It is fairly a rec drug. In my plan BC is covered and viagra not so much and frankly that is the way it should be.
shouldn't the insurer have the ability to decide what to cover?

One is EVIL. The other is not. If you can't understand that, then we aren't debating on a level playing field. /thread

Could you please point us to the executive order that says Viagra has to be free without a copay? I'll hang up and listen.

What? Put the bible down buddy. First of all, if you're using those premises, they're both evil. It is totally unnatural for old arse men to pop a pill to get hard.

Retard. Have you not been reading what I've said? Did I say this wasn't about whether or not Viagra is or isn't free. This is about the hypocrisy I see with traditional republicans men going bat shite crazy over birth control being given for free, yet they would not do the same in regards to viagra. This is an exercise in full circle thinking, trying to break the pattern of linear thinkers.

Pure speculation. You're basing a hypocrisy charge on the difference between the actual reaction to an actual event and what you ASSume the reaction would be to a hypothetical event. Opposing a mandate isn't exactly a stretch for Republicans, especially not when that mandate comes from the Democrats. The only actual hypocrisy is on your Messiah's part, for singling out one to be free while letting insurers exclude the other. I do agree that your "thinking" is circular.
