not a troll at all... I think VU is going to do what they can to keep franklin, and franklin has said he is committed to building something big at Vandy. It could all be posturing, but I sorta doubt it.
VU is not a stepping stone anymore... they've taken care of tim corbin when others came calling, and they'll do the same for Franklin, IMO.

Sources tell me that Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin is NOT involved in the Arkansas coaching search.
Might have been Tennesse, Auburn or Kentucky that called but it was not Arkansas so guess again.

he is a very good coach and would be a solid hire.
the problem isn't the hire. the problem is the hire in comparison to the fire. he'd get killed for firing a great coach, to hire a pretty good coach.. for no real reason other than the great coach lied to him.
that won't work. the fans like myself gave him the benefit of the doubt when he fired petrino, but not to hire franklin.

This is right up there with the stupidest crap I have ever read on this site.
You better hope this isn't the thinking of the powers that be at Arkansas. If it is you are doomed become what Ole Miss is.
Franklin would be a awesome hire for Arky and I for one hope he doesn't ended up at Arky or Auburn.

Franklin is nt leaving Vanderbilt. He loves the black AD who gave him a chance and they have just competed the indorr facility he always wanted. Vandy has a $42B endowment and will not let Franklin leave for want of more money. He got a big raise last year as did his asst coaches...forget about it...JF staying put...nt a fit in any way for Fayettevlle....

thank god, he is a great fit for Vanderbilt a poor one for our University. I hope we did not even offer him and it was another SEC school. Getting shot down by a sucky coach like Franklin would well suck.

Eventually, Franklin is going to want to win his division, conference, and maybe even a NC. He's not staying at Vandy forever.

with all tht said, i'm just telling you what is. you cant' fire a petrino who won 11 games to hire a coach from vandy. you can't do it and expect fans to like it. you woudlnt' like it and yout hink that because we are arkansas we shoudl shut up and like it and it's not gonna work.
when long fired petrino it was full well knowing that he would have to bring in a coach that the fan base could get behind. i like franklin, i think he will be a great coach. but he isn't the right hire.
