Example: the band is playing the parts "and the rockets' red glare" and 75% of the stadium is singing that, while the student section is almost on "the bombs bursting in air".

Everyone in the stadium is drunk. The only people who get offended are the sober up tight bitches anway. It's a wonderful tradition. Almost as good as teabag tebow.

the delay from the whole stadium to the field during the first down cheer in pregame was always really funny. the band would be on the next notes while hearing the crowd yell the previous "geaux tigers"

I had to explain what they were saying to some people. I could here it, but i akso knew what they were saying so it was ckear as day to me. But yall should stop ragging on the students when half the stadium yells kick their ass. Or the frick you spurrier chant.
Grown women are screaming kick their ass. That is still a curse word and along the same lines as bitch. I dont think dick is a bad word.

ETA: a perfect example would be the "and beat the shite out of them, bitch!" after the first down cheer. completely gone now and no one had to do anything, just new students come in and create their own chants and old ones die off
the best way to deal with it is to ignore it, and the rest of the stadium just cheer louder. no one has a problem with the "kick their ass!" at the end of the first down chant because the rest of the stadium yells "L-S-U!"
if everyone else would just chant "talkin out the side of your neck" at the same time as the students, they would have never had to ban the song, the students would have eventually gotten sick of it/it would have died out with a couple new freshman classes coming in and all the problems would be solved
instead we have old people bitching about college students, and college students "rebelling" against the system and the old people
whoever made the call really brought it on themselves

I chuckle at the notion that taking your young kids to a "violent" college football game is somehow akin to taking your young kids to a Cuban donkey sex show. As if anything goes.
I also chuckle at the notion that an expectation of not having to explain to my kids what sucking a tiger dick means is somehow akin to me not parenting my kids. If you want to shrug it off as that, you're not getting the point: your behavior is silly and embarrassing to the University.
Again, students are students. But, that doesn't mean I'm not going to call them out for being stupid, unimaginative, and vulgar for the sake of vulgarity when I see it. But hey keep being you....
And, btw, yes, in the 80s we had:
"Hahahahaha... a-hole! a-hole!" (they eventually killed part of the song that this went with)
"Bama, Bama, Bama won't you bite my ass!" (ok, this is clearly appropriate! :-)
"What comes out of a Chinaman's ass...?" (hey, at least it's creative, and still PG)

I think the chant is stupid, but so is grown arse men booing our players. Too many hypocrites.

Elleshoe, I like you as a Rant poster. So, don't take this the wrong way, but at some point you may be like me (old fart, early 40s) and sitting in the East lower bowl around the 15 yard line just across from the student section, and seated next to you is your lovely 10-yr-old daughter whom you adore ... both of you soaking in the experience of a Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium, eating nachos, cheering first downs.
And at some point she turns to you with those big doe eyes and asks, "Daddy, what does suck that tiger dick mean?" (which we can hear clearly) and then you might be like me and think...
Man, I wish we were focusing on the field of play, or Mike the Tiger, or how she'd love to be an LSU Cheerleader someday. Yet, instead she's hearing 15K students say this in unison and I'm going to have to spend the next few minutes telling her why they are doing something inappropriate.
So, yes, I'd rather it not happen. It is a negative on a night of what is otherwise Pure Glorious Pageantry of College Football.
And, btw, some folks feel strongly enough about it to threaten their donation levels, which will hit home with LSU and could negatively impact the football program. (not hyperbole)
