I personally like these maps way more than blops 1. I enjoy smaller maps that encourage fast gameplay. They are great for CTF

This game is arse cheeks

Very disappointing, I guess I'll move to halo 4 or get bf3

No shit? Blops 1 maps were the best I've played other than SOCOM.

Firing Range, Villa, Summit, WMD, Crisis, Nuke Town.

Could play those 24/7.

I'm pickin' up Blops 2 tomorrow but the maps look AWFUL on the YouTube walkthroughs I've seen. The boat map and carrier map especially.

I loved firing range, summit and havana... I hate large maps.

Nuketown is a given

re: So it appears Treyarch didn't solve any of the problems that plagued BLOPS

I like it

Spawns sucks. Hit detection seems fine to me. It's COD so lag is expected. That will never be fixed IMO. I've found 3-4 weapons that I really like.

Wish they had a few bigger maps but overall I'm pleased

Edit: I forgot...quickscoping and tac knifing. Quickscoping isn't as bad b/c I don't get quickscoped nearly as much as I get Rambo rushing thru a constant stream of bullets to his torso to take me out with one quick swipe. I almost wish they would just completely remove the knife from the game. Most OP weapon ever considering it also makes you temporarily invincible.

Glad I chose not to pick this up. Sounds like the same crap that made me leave the last game. I like Treyarc over IW but hearing all of this is disappointing.

Spawns are shitty most of the time

I don't see this at all. I have had very few times where I have been revenge spawned. The worst is spawning into killstreaks but that has really only happened to me on that small arse boat map.

inconsistent hit detection

I think this is due to lag compensation. I am hoping they fix it. Tired of getting the drop on someone, hitting them in the head, only for them to turn around and drop me.

quote:

unbalanced weapons,

I have no doubt they tune this and might even do it this week. Per Vohn's Twitter

and don't even get me started on the servers.

They haven't been that bad on Xbox. Every now and then you can't connect to the server but then you just back out and try again and you usually get right in.

quote:

I guess theres no incentive to fix the problems if there's no legitimate competition

Ummm...Treyarch did as good as they could trying to fix problems in BLOPS 1 and this time they built in even more tools to help them tune the game. I have no doubt they will.

quote:

they also left the drop shot in this game, which completely baffles me.

You want them to take out a skill a player uses? This game was built with e-sports/competitive gaming in mind and you want them to nerf a move that is widely used in competitive gaming? I drop shot and like all gun battles you win some and you lose some.

BOOM...STOUTED

Nothing but SMGs and the quickscoping is as bad as its ever been on any CoD.

Now this is a legit complaint. Assault Rifles really have no place in this game at this point and sniping is the easiest it has ever been in any CoD.

I actually really enjoy the game. You're always going to see more complaint threads than praise.

I hate quickscoping and lunge knifing thru gunfire. Some people love it. I've had a few lag issues but it hasn't been nearly as bad as some people have experienced apparently. Hit detection seems fine to me. It takes more shots to kill people but I'm getting the hit markers. Spawns suck but I've learened to just look in every direction every few seconds.

I've probably had more fun on this one than any other COD I've played so far.

In comparison, BLOPS 1 seemed more laggy and choppy to me. I liked it, but it had kind of a clunky feel at times. This one is smooth as can be. I think people expected a BLOPS twin with updated weapons. I much prefer the gameplay of this one.

Treyarch usually makes the best maps for CoD. At least more consistently than IW did but they failed on these. I know why the maps are the way they are in this game with the focus on e-sports but Treyarch might have alienated a huge future buying demo cause there are plenty of people who just want to play casually and could give a shite about fast paced e-sports style.

I've complained about the spawns but that's mostly on TDM and FFA. I guess I should expect that on those gametypes.

I haven't had this issue as bad as most. At least not nearly as bad as OG BLOPS

Based on that twitter, I expect target finder and Full Auto FAL to get nerfed.

I've been using the m8a1 with select fire and it has a fire rate about as fast as an smg. I have been setting up shop in buildings and picking people off running around with smg's and have been doing pretty well. Using bouncing Betty with black hat and scavenger so I can use other people's claymores and stuff against them

I agree the smg seem over powered but if you play it right it can be countered. It's a slow style of play, some might call it camping, but I have always been an assault rifle guy

I don't play FFA and very rarely play TDM so that might be why I haven't seen it.

The spawn system in BLOPS 2 is supposed to be self correcting and ever evolving. They built in code that will mark each time a bad spawn happens and over time it will adjust itself. Pretty freaking cool if you ask me and I am curious to see how spawns change over time.

My ping is usually no higher than in the 60s and averages lower than that but my upload speed blows so maybe that has something to do with it. Not sure but it is so bad I have considered making a failtage of it.

That is pretty cool. I didn't know that. I've had some pretty awful spawns. One game there was 3-4 tiems in row. I killed a guy, he spawned behind me and killed, I spawned behing him, then he spawned behind me. Pretty insane.

This is what I hate. I lagged out of a game yesterday. Checked my ping and it was 5 ms. FIVE. Not 105. 5. Lagged 3 times and skipped across the map another 3. It seems like those with a good connection get punished and brought down to shitty connections. This was even with me selecting "best" connection. I just changed it back to normal.

Exactly what happens.

Remember in BLOPS 1 when I posted about choking your connection to get a the lag compensation to work for you? I tried it in BLOPS 1 and no doubt it works. I bet it would work here too. Only real way to ever fix this is dedicated servers.

My connection speed is below 3Mbps so I guess I get a compensation automatically.
