we weren't fortunate enough to land a "Nick Saban" for 5 years and then bolt on us for better opportunities. Saban built LSU, then Les Miles basically won the lottery by walking into an already established program. Miles won a fluke championship in a 2-loss season because of Saban's program. Miles is/was basically a trust fund baby living off of Saban's success. you will never see another championship at LSU until Miles is out of the picture.

Notre Dame on the other hand is up and coming and more powerful than ever right now.

You're wrong there. Holtz was given the keys to the Porsche. He lowered requirements. Davie had them raised on him and then Willingham was too busy fighting to get them lowered then lost his support. Weiss was lazy. Davie had the kingdom but allowed others to make the rules and wouldn't test the waters.
