I'm not saying there was a protest in Benghazi. I think that is one thing our intel people were unsure of at first. Don't conflate having a protest precede the attack in Benghazi with their reasons for attacking being the video-inspired protests in the rest of the Muslim world that day.

My issue isn't what Rice said, it's why she was given those particular talking points when it seems there is evidence that indicate this wasn't the case.

Please stop you are only making it clear you have no knowledge of this part of the world.
Yes the libyan government would love to get the weapons out of their opponents hands, but this isn't the US they don't exactly have control over everyone. It is easily accessible as they just fought a civil war and everyone raided qaddafi's armory.
The mortar came at about 5 AM, almost 8 hours after the attacks began. A mortar tube is very handy because it is quite portable. according to this LINK a mortar tube and all things required to use it weigh a total of 46.5 pounds.

She constantly emphasized the caveats that this was the best initial assessment of our intel community, that new info was coming in, that she would wait until the FBI finished its investigation before coming to a final conclusion. She said that over and over and over again.

Hindsight gives amazing clarity. I am going to take the word of the professionals that at that time, knowing what the knew then, the gave Rice the best info they had. But I suppose random guy on a message board who reads right wing news might be a better source to analyzing intelligence data.

You'll take the word of the professionals who didn't know what the average message board geek knew the day after it happened? Do you still believe that Iraq had WMD, because that was the opinion of the professionals in 2003.

there was no armor vehicles that I have read about. I also wasn't aware of any mortars during the initial attack. RPGs, readily available in that part of the world.
Again using a spontaneous protest as cover does not mean these guys hadn't been planning for a while. Hell I would guess that at least one group has some sort of plan for attacking every US embassy and consulate in the entire world.

It was 9/11. The only reason anyone blamed the stupid video is because Barry and his regime threw that out there. The fact that his propaganda arm bought it and spread it to the moronic masses doesn't make it anymmore valid. Al Qaeda is alive and kicking in north Africa thanks to Barry.

Congressman Peter King, who was in the hearing today, just said on Hannity that "Al Qaeda affiliated groups" had been removed from the initial talking points by someone in the WH. They want to know who watered them down.

She was cautious about final conclusions while mischaracterizing what the violence was, and failing to disclose what the violence was known to be. Riiiight.
She lied, and her typical political double speak doesn't cover her ass, and only makes you a fool for defending it.

Oops. Rep. King was in the closed hearing. The talking points were altered. Intelligence community couldn't say who. "A total sham."
Obama let it slip that Rice was told to say by the White House.
AQ is on the run. We won the war. OBL dead, GM alive. Etc.
But nice try on posting the CBS bs cover story.
