Mizuno MP's or AP2's are the best choices, but if you're rich order a set of Miura's, they're the "best"

I'm saying that since I don't use blades, that out of all the other types of irons.......ping is the shite

I gotchya'. I've never played a round with the I-20's or the AP-2's, but I've hit both. We all know it is personal. Both are great, but those damn Pings feel awesome.

Ping probably makes the best GI clubs. Just a solid casting. If you can't hit a ping straight, you can't hit anything

I have been eyeing those mp 64's myself. I seen em at Edwinn Watts. I think Mizuno makes the purest feeling irons on the market, and I like the fact that they usually jack up the loft 1 or 2 degrees so you get a little more distance out of each club. Whatever you choose, its probably a good idea to make sure you don't get something with much offset in the hosel, especially since you are already a 13 handicap and getting better. If you can, go with a cavity back forged iron. The worst part of cast irons IMHO is that they do not have the consistency in distance control that a forged iron has. Good luck

Yeah, it's different for everyone. I've taken a good amount of swings with both.......the I-20's had the best feel for sure

Can't you get this done if you want to? I've heard of people doing this after the purchase of their set. Who does this/where can someone get this done?

I order my sets this way, and then just check each club after I order them to make sure it is correct

You can have it done at most pro shops or golf stores, be careful though bc some clubs dont handle that kind of change well. Over time a lot of clubs end up delofting themselves so its a good idea to have the lie and loft checked every now and then

So it's more of a factory thing. Once you buy them, that's it?

Good deal, thanks. Seems like a forged iron would just get stronger if it had this done.

I've seen irons snap after too much tinkering, and ive seen an iron actually tear from the hosel slowly. Honestly though ordering a new set and having it done is definitely not a big deal, but it is extra money to spend

If you like the feel of forged I would suggest Adams A12 pro or adams CMB irons. Another set would be mizuno jpx pro 825. Best suggestion is to get fit.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like i20s and mp-53 (mizuno in general) are winning. Is anyone going to give those rocketbladz a shot? Also, when people say "get fitted" do you mean just walk in a shop and say "fit me"? I know ping, mizuno, etc have their own fitting systems, but how does one "get fitted" when trying to choose a brand other than hitting some in the cage at Edwin watts? Lastly, I'm in B'ham. I know of golfsmith, Edwin watts, Inverness golf any recs on where to get best "fitting".

take a look at the Callaway Razr X-Forged. i liked the feel on these compared to the Mizunos and Titleist. Switched to these from a 2003 set of TM 300 Forged. If looking to save a bit of money, you can pick up a used set of the 2009 model for $250-$300. Not too much difference. 9 HDCP

From what I hear, they may be perfect for you. And apparently, you'll see significant gains in iron distance

call a few courses up there (even private) and ask if they do fittings...It's a lot better to get fit on the range than a cage

I have the i15 and love them. I think ping comes out with clubs faster than anyone else. As soon as you buy the 20 they will be on sale because the i25 are out.
