I've been thinking about taking an old hand saw and making a machete out of it. You could even leave the teeth on the back.

That thing looks like the exact same thing just with less weight and looks like it might break after the first missed swing.

Looks nothing like an axe. Has a thin razor sharp blade. I have seen large items come down with one whack. Break?

Don't waste your time on the cheap Walmart one. I used it once and it was Bent to about 30 degrees.

I just take the cheap one from academy and sharpen it. Never had any problems

We call that a brush axe, and I have the gerber machete that was posted right below yours. Both work well.

I love my Sog. Not too expensive and it is a fricking horse. I've cut down 4" chicken trees with the right downward angle.

Also carry a pair of long handled Fiscars on the bike and these are miracle workers for clearing lanes.
