if you want to add to the 'huey' list.. Huey Long had the lakes dug next to LSU so Southern couldn't use that location for their campus.

I remember hearing about a tunnel that ran all the way from the downtown area to campus. Supposedly Huey used it. Heard it might have been from the Downtown Hilton area.

Every year around Halloween someone or something would take a dump in the Kirby Smith express elevator and decorate it with fall foliage. K Smith was supposedly designed by an ole miss grad and made 13 floors on purpose as sort of a jinx on LSU. The 13th floor is also supposedly haunted by a young slave boy that was buried on that property back during the civil war You can enter the tunnels(in my day) via a access hatch by the sidewalk in between pentagon cafeteria and the Greek theatre. You can also enter at the base of the theatre. One of the tunnels comes out at the back of the auditorium behind the quad, another one terminates at the flag pole on the parade grounds. Best place to scare people while in the tunnels is the big grate in between Middleton and Allen Hall.

I assume you guys are talking about the spot in front of the Law School. AGR would paint it green every year. If you look at some older 60s-70s Gumbo's, you may catch a pic of some co-ed painting it. It was pink for one year back in those days.

Can't remember the year(late 90's) there is an issue of the Gumbo where in one of the frat group pictures a dude has his junk hanging out of his zipper(dick and balls not much of one though). Giant fuss became of it and I believe the editor got fired.

A physics Phd candidate committed suicide by leaping to his death off the front of the Life Sciences building a couple years ago. He was Muslim and nobody seemed to notice. I remember walking by it not long after it happened and saw the blood still on the pavement.

The entrance to the quad between himes and coates, if you look at the side wall on the himes side I believe there are stairs that lead to no where poured in the concrete of the outdoor basement area. You have to lean over the railing and look down. Always wondered what that was for.

I saw this happen. During desert storm, Muslim students would pray by the bell tower, on more than one occasion from a hidden location they would get pelted with water balloons.

I remember this as well, a few of the other guys in the fraternity were walking by when it happened, said it was just a loud slapping sound

1. Tunnels 2. DKE's basement leads to all the tunnels 3. Bob Weir wrote "The Grateful Dead" into the wet cement by the track stadium. 4. A Philosophy professor was found hanging in his office in what I guess is Pleasant Hall (Northgate Area - West Chimes Street). That's all I know of (I don't go to school there by the way, these were all stories told to me).

I had always heard that the pool at the Huey building was suppose to be a Playboy (before this existed) type groto for high ranking politicians.

A lot of the outdoor basement areas in the quad have access to the tunnels. Isn't there some kind of urban legend about why the room numbering system in Lockett is all fricked up, like a equation built into the building itself.
