All I remember is to never, ever drink the first few ounces that come off of the still because its a different type of alcohol which can blind or kill you.

I built a small working still for my 7th grade GT project. Got an A and almost expelled. Didn't know it was illegal. It worked. I made a batch with a mash recipe some old timer gave me. They made me destroy it, but they can't destroy KNOWLEDGE!

Easiest cheapest set up is a pressure cooker on a hot plate. After a little of that you will want to go to a 60qt crawfish pot... or so Ive been told

Sounds like a good project but I have no knowledge on the matter

Yes it is. Dont start without reading up and doing your homework. Its as simple as baking a cake. Learn to make your mash, then get the right temps for cooking at each step. Thats it once you build a still and it can be as simple of complex as you want.
