and the rest of your post backs up what I said.

Texas has 4 times the population as La. LSU does not have as much national appeal as you think. Not to say we have none, but outside of ND, national appeal is marginal. A&M fans are very excited and there are a lot of them. They would travel to a BCS bowl and watch on TV.

then it's pretty sure an LSU pick....i guarantee the Rose Bowl remembers 45,000 requests for tickets back in 2006....

plus LSU has a reputation for fans spending money when they get to their destination

Depends on who winds up #1. The bowl that loses the #1 team picks first and will take Notre Dame if ND is not in the BCS CG. If Oregon wins out that probably are the #1 team and the Rose Bowl will take them. If they are gone, then I think we have a good shot. But just because A&M hasn't been very food lately doesn't meant their fans won't go to a BCS bowl.

Brad Edwards said his Fiesta Bowl sources say that they will not do this. Supposedly, they will remain true to their Big12 ties and replace KState with Oklahoma.

A helluva lot more than Texas A&M I'd imagine.

We were in the highest rated football game of the season for two straight years. We get boffo TV ratings and our fans travel. I think you're selling LSU's national appeal far short. We're the big boys now. LSU is one of the most popular teams in the country now.

Beg to differ. Since 2000, only Notre Dame,(which has their on TV network) has appeared in more nationally televised games than LSU. The Tigers typically draw nice T.V ratings and possess a rabid following on the road. That being said, they are a dark horse to get into a BCS bowl this season simply because they are behind three other SEC schools. As noted, Florida would pretty much have to lose to FSU and 'Bama would have to defeat UGA. Cotton or Cap1 likely for the Tigers if they win out.

Yep and it also has 5 schools in a major BCS conference and 3 other recognizable FBS schools.

Really? I see LSU gear EVERYWHERE when I travel. I have seen it in every state I have travled to and frequently visible LSU fans outnumber visible fans of the local university.
