It appears if things play out like they should (LSU winning out), that the Fiesta Bowl is going to have to pick between LSU/A&M/Florida/SECCGloser to face Oklahoma (assuming Brad Edwards is correct and the Fiesta plans to remain true to its Big12 ties and replace KState with OU, passing on Notre Dame who will then get scooped up by the Rose Bowl to play the Big10 champ)

That said, I am sure there will be Fiesta Bowl reps at the LSU-Ole Miss game Saturday (and probably Rose Bowl reps as well).

LSU fans need to make a strong statement Saturday. Stadium needs to be full and loud. We've got a team that is getting hot and starting to play like we expected before the season, and our fans need show the country and the bowl reps that we are behind this team. If you happen to see a Fiesta Bowl rep, feel free to let them know how excited you are to potentially be going to the Fiesta.

It's our final home game of 2012... We need to pack Tiger Stadium, be loud, and make a statement (and it wouldn't hurt if LSU rolled Ole Miss 41-10).

Definitely possible, as is the Fiesta. Right now, Fiesta is the most likely landing spot for LSU.

Of course, if Notre Dame and Florida lose, then LSU will be guaranteed the Fiesta as we will be an automatic BCS selection by virtue of being in the Top4.

Cotton vs Texas or Cap1 vs Michigan are nice consolation prizes, though. I could definitely get up for either of those games.

Surely, you know beating the crowd off campus is more important than going to the Fiesta Bowl.

Thats one of the things I'm worried about....2:30 game, not a "big" game, big favorite, LSU will probably win by a decent margin ...

Fans just need to understand that people are watching us, and our fans can help make a statement to bowl reps. The team obviously has to do their job as well, but the fans certainly play a role in this by showing the bowl reps we are 100% behind this team and very excited about a possible BCS selection.

If k-state finishes #1 there is no wat the fiesta bowl passes on notre dame. With oregon at #2 and in the championship game a team like lsu can fill the remaining rose bowl spot.

Seriously, JP, you are correct in that we need a packed house to support the team and I hope they will be there ready to scream their butts off, because Old Misses always plays us tough when the tables are setup like they are. I just couldn't get over the number of people leaving Tiger Stadium Saturday night at the half when the game was still very much in the balance!
Heard we were called out on ESPN for it, also.

I actually agree, and I think Edwards is wrong and the Fiesta takes Notre Dame, putting LSU in the Rose Bowl vs the Big10 champ. (which is actually more appealing to LSU fans than the Fiesta) ... of course in that scenario the Rose could always opt for Oklahoma to face Nebraska, and I wouldn't put that past the Rose.

That said, Edwards said according to his sources the Fiesta plans on remaining true to its Big12 ties and replacing KState with OU.

Either way, LSU is in legitimate consideration for the Rose/Fiesta... so our fans need to do everything within their power to help that along.

Victories that come with style points will be huge these next two games. Not enough to squeak by. Momentum going into the bowl selection is big. A lot to play for!

Can't make it in for this game, but hope the crowd brings it, even if it's a day game. Will be cheering at the TV!

I agree with you for the most part and I hope the fans make Tiger Stadium loud on Saturday and show up for Saturday. I have a trip planned this week, so I sold my tickets to someone that better be loud.

But I don't think we need to "impress" a bowl rep as far as fans go. Make no mistake, they know what the atmosphere was like for the Bama game and they know how well we will travel. We wills sell out any venue in 30 minutes or less. What we need is for the offense to keep rolling and blow the doors off the next 2 opponents. Like Palmer said the way LSU played the last 2 weeks, they are maybe the best in the country. The bowl reps know this. If we show them that for two more weeks, everything will take care of itself.

I'm just rooting for Florida and Notre Dame to lose, hopefully putting LSU at #4 and thus making LSU an automatic BCS selection (not to mention Oregon/KState winning out, thus keeping Bama out of the BCSCG). I think that's the best thing for LSU.

1. LSU wins out
2. Florida loses to FSU
3. Notre Dame loses to USC
4. Oregon/Kstate win out

We will be there until the end of the game. Unlike 60% of the fans last week.

This would just be awesome. I just think if UF loses to FSU and Bama beats UGA and we finish at 5, we are going to be awfully hard to pass on for the Fiesta/Rose. I could be wrong, but I feel like if UGA and UF lose, we are going to get in.

ETA: BTW - I already have plans to go to the Rose or Fiesta if we make it.

Yeah, it would be incredibly hard to keep a Top5 LSU team out of the BCS IMO.

Team just needs to focus on continuing to play well.

Bowls are for us (the fans) and the media to speculate about.
