I find it interesting that recruits aren't taking to the newfound success of KSU's program. Could it be due to the fact that Snyder won't be around much longer? Eta: I know this has nothing to do with LSU recruiting, but this makes me realize how good we have it being in an area of the country that is rich in talent year in and year out.

If they win the bcs, they will do much better, trust me.

They've been successful for about 5-6 weeks since beating WVU. How quickly were you expecting all these commits to start rolling in?

Also, I would imagine most recruits want to go to a school that wins year in and year out. K state is just having a good year.

They might not be in the contention every year but Snyder has them playing at a high level enough to get multiple 11+ win seasons and winning bowl games.

He took over for bloody Ron Prince and brought them back to 10-3 last year and is on a roll this year.

It is more than sufficient for enough non prima donnas and divas to stay nearby or in conference and be able to win at the same time.

He is the ultimate program builder and maintainer.

Bill Synder has a system that people have tried to match, and failed.

He takes a crap ton of JUCO's every season, and red-shirts most of them when they get to campus he also has a way of finding 2-star guys out of HS and turning them into legit players.

When he retires again, K-St will fall back into mediocrity, again.

Snyder is easily one of, if not the best coaches in the country.

Bill Snyder is a wizard!

Seriously, he takes one of the worst programs and makes them a winner. Retires and KSU turns to shite. He comes back years later and makes a national contender.

Wizard!!!

I live in KC. I went to LSU and have been a KSU fan since '97. Snyder usually gets the 2 and 3 star guys and the JC players since Kansas has so many junior colleges. The only year he went after the 4 and 5 star guys was in '03 after they beat OU in the Big 12 championship game. They all went somewhere else and he missed out on even the 3 star guys. That put a wrench in the plans for the middle 2000's. He won't make that same mistake twice. He always comes on strong late. He's not going anywhere. When he does, his son, Sean, will be the one. Snyder does more with less than ANY coach in the country. If he had 4 and 5 star, he would be unbeatable. Look what he's doing with 2 and 3 star guys!!! Geaux Wilcats!!!!

Whoever said that is smoking crack. Snyder had Hwy 77 going into Manhattan named after him as well as the stadium. He can stay as long as he wants. We love him at "the Bill"- Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

No, but there is a rush of players from several junior colleges in Kansas to play there their last two years. It makes up for the lack of high school talent in Kansas .

Daniel Sams is the backup QB who will be the starter next year; he's from Slidell. Lucas is 6'9"- 324 left tackle from New Orleans. The you have Milo, a starting DB from New Orleans too.

I forgot about all the JUCOs in the area.

But yeah, the man has a formula and sticks to it, and it pays dividends on the field.

There are several JC's in Kansas, like Butler Co where Mett went. This makes up for the lack of high school talent.

I was in St. Louis at the Big 12 Championship game when we lost in OT. Ironically, its Texas A&M that allowed KSU to be #1!!!!

I remember Sams from Salmen..I'm from the Northshore, so I follow any recruiting that exists in the area as closely as I can. The dude can do it all. He played QB, WR, DB and returned punts and kicks for the Spartans.
