Has LSU started a new trend by turning JC into a fullback?

I could see a lot of teams seeking a quick, undersized dlineman to stick at fullback. I think JC is getting very close to Quinn Johnson status. Quinn is the barometer I compare fullbacks to.

Kennard Swanson is the next JC
He has offers to play DT from a couple schools

I'm not saying Les shoul consider it, but could you imagine freak going to open some holes?

Other schools have done it in situations, but I don't recall seeing anyone else do it on a full-time basis. Jesse Williams at Alabama. Florida in some of their heavy sets circa '08, I believe.

Didn't Copeland play fullback and d-tackle I high school?

No but we recruited and signed the FB from his high school. He got cut or left after we moved JC to FB

that was Brandon Worle. he left more because he didn't get a shot to play RB than the move of JC. I really wanted to see that dude play anything (special teams offense or D), his tape was awesomely violent.

Only at LSU, most teams do not run a traditional I anymore
