I would add that I do not think Hornets247 is an authority on anything. I think it's a place for passionate people to learn, work, and share the fruits of their labors. The body of work should stand on its own, for good or ill.

I agree with much of what you say.

And I'm not eager to engage in a battle about the site. As I said, I appreciate and admire the work you all do.

Whether y'all want it or not, the ESPN affiliation gives the site more weight, especially since local coverage is poor. You are the main source of in depth analysis for locals and for a national outlet. That spotlight demands high quality writing and analysis from anyone under the banner. I want to see 247 produce the kind of writers who get picked up by SI, CBS, or the NYT. I want guys from there become "must reads" for all basketball fans, not just Hornets fans. Mix the obvious passion with deep, quality insights.

If Joe is trolling, he needs to grow up. If he sincerely believes that Biyombo is a better bet than Ryan Anderson then he should do a post on it and explain why he is taking this stand. Let us see if that opinion can hold water in long form, not 140 characters.

All of that is appreciated as well-thought-out criticism. I'm not going to `defend' or `attack' another writer with respect to how things should be done.

I really just wanted to make that ownership thing clear, since it is perhaps confusing. Then when someone was confused further, I explained why I brought that up, and how authority, I thought, was part of why I thought you meant he owned Hornets247. Then I just added my own thoughts about authority. I know you did not bring it up initially.

I happen to feel there is a public trust the site is a steward of, and I take that quite seriously.

I do think we have the same goals for the site.

If I may ask, why was it assumed he owned the site and not another writer or even an outside party?
