It's an example. Here's another that happens all the time. Teenagers shopping at the mall. Police officer asks them to leave (suspicious looking). They refuse because they aren't "doing anything wrong." What happens next? Police officer asks again and if they continue to resist they are escorted off the premises.

Still not applicable.

The teenagers are not doing their job at the mall. They are just hanging out.

The coach was there because he was doing his job as the head coach of the football team warming his team up prior to a football game.

If his principal was out there like she should have been the coach wouldn't have put in that situation to begin with.

The frick?

Why should the principal be on the football field?

NO, the problem is that the principal from Parkway vastly overstepped her bounds and found a police officer who would go along with her abuse of power.

Period.

"the police officer was not unfairly ordered to pull you over, and driving down the street is not your assigned job for that timeframe.

You're conveniently ignoring key elements of the story in your analogy, which is why it's a terrible analogy."

If you weren't doing anything wrong then yes he is unfairly pulling you over. And the fact that you are working or not working is irrelevant with a police officer requesting you to leave the premises.

Once again, not saying he was right to request it only that the coach should have left when requested. Bottom line, you ignore a police officer's request multiple times what do you think is going to happen?

Yes!!!!!!! If I see police officers and the other school's principal approaching MY football coach, then YES...I will be out there defending him! And resolving it before it got to the coach.

The game was not delayed. Even with everything that happened, Parkway's band perfomed at their scheduled time, and the kickoff still took place at 7:00 with Tut on the field.

When things started happening, the LOH principal started making her way to the field, but Tut was already in cuffs. This whole thing took place very quickly, not some long ordeal as some people think. Why would a principal be on the field with the team during warmups?

The fact remains that the police officer SHOULD NEVER HAVE MADE THE REQUEST.

That's what you're conveniently ignoring.

A police officer on the highway can have a cause to pull you over.

What is his cause for ordering a coach to leave the field during warmups prior to a football game that he's coaching?

No, I haven't. I really don't expect that. Our team will tell anyone that their team played a clean game. They've all said how there was very little trash talk, and that they were friendly. Both teams helped each other up after plays. It's sad that something like this messed up a night for the kids, because it was supposed to be for them.

As a coach, the thing to do would have been to immediately call for your principal and say, "My principal is on her way and you guys can discuss it when she gets here." That situation needed to be handled between the administrators.
Your not getting it. Coach was cuffed before principal could get down there.

What I can't defend is the fact that the Coach could have just left the field when asked by the Deputy and if the Coach had a gripe with that, then he could have flied a complaint with the LHSAA, the BSO or whoever he felt he needed to.

Why couldn't the principal do the same thing and take a step back and just file a complaint with the LHSAA instead of getting the police involved?
