I really like this guy as a coach. And his system would fit well. The only thing would be that the stage would be so much bigger than where he's at now.
I agree. With USC caliber athletes available to him, he could do some serious damage to the opposition.

As I recall reading last wk his over all college football record is something like 36-31 & a 3-15 record against ranked teams. Throw in his record at the Raiders & I fail to see where his resume is that great; here in the SEC, he'd be a bottom feeder with that record. USC got tons of preseason media buzz & as they started off decently & he was being praised for the way he'd handled the sanctions. All primarily because of the USC brand. So now that bad pub is coming down, deal with it. You cann't have it both ways. And this is not just about this one incident. Go back to his UT days & look at all the "petty" stuff that he was constantly getting caught up in. This incident was not the first or second such incident, this year, that he's been involved in. This is the resume that is catching the media's eyes now. As Mr. Oscar Wilde put it: "if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it is a duck."

You can take or leave Al Davis anyway you want to, but one thing he was most adamant bout when he fired LK was that he was "one of the biggest liars I have ever run across".

man, so the guy lost his job as a student manager; he gained much, much more. his payoffs are based on his silence.

Dude has a great resume. Protege of his dad, mentored by Pete Carroll at USC as OC with one of the most prolific offenses of all time. He only had 1 year w/ Raiders (Davis - enough said) 1-year at UT - recruited the shite out of that place given the crap circumstances and didn't exactly bomb.
You say the guy has a great resume, but immediately make excuses for two of the three head coaching jobs he's had. And he's not setting the world on fire at his current one.
quote:
This (USC) is his first real job to properly evaluate him apart from his resume/background.
His two years at Oakland and Tennessee are part of his resume and background, but it can't be used to evaluate him?
