PS - The chances that an Iranian Air Force jet is used to transport a nuclear weapon into the US are less than nil.
I agree however I am referring primarily to a dirty bomb that could be smuggled sans aircraft.

Truth be known, had that drone been armed with air to air such as AIM/Sidewinder, both those SU25's would be toast.

Are you forgetting that nuclear weapons are basically 40s technology?

no they aren't . 40s era weapons were atomic, not nuclear. That aside, look at the miniaturization and shielding techniques that have been developed in the last 30 years alone. In the height of the cold war era a suitcase nuke being sneaked into the US was the stuff of spy novels. Today is a real possibility.

Incorrect. Atomic weapons are not fission weapons where nuclear are fusion weapons. Nuclear weapons cover both fusion and fission weapons.

That depends on what you mean by that. "suitcase nuke" was shop talk for an ultra portable, not nesscessarily literally a nuke in a suitcase. That is 80s tech. The point is that nuclear weapons aren't exactly bleeding edge tech. And they aren't trying to make them with technology from those eras either.

Yeah and I guess Pakistan's just an anomaly - you know, the country that's had nukes for years and hated America at the same time but somehow has just magically not figured out how to get nuclear weapons into the US.

Anything like the knuckleheads on hotels in Baghdad shooting at fighters already over water miles away?

How would you like to be one of those Su-25 pilots going up against our F-18s, F-16s, and F-15s? Su-25s with poorly trained pilots, against the best fighter jets in the world, flown by the the most highly trained pilots, with the best tactics. I think the odds are slightly in our favor.

Not to mention the F22 and soon to be F35. Hell, even that drone could have shot down those '25s.
