Anyone ever tried to learn to play guitar or piano or anything in their late 20s? Curious if its too late to try and pick it up. What would be easier to learn, piano or guitar?
ETA: I have zero experience with music, played a tuba in the band in 4th grade though

My dad started teaching himself to play guitar the beginning of this year. He's almost 50. Never too late. He can play and sing a handful of songs

If you remember how to read music you should be fine.
All you really need to learn is the fingerings

100% Never too late, I'm low 20's and I picked the guitar up last year...granted I suck compared to people who have been playing but I'm leaps and bounds ahead of where I was a year ago. All it takes is time

Started teaching myself guitar 1.5 years ago. Iam 30. I can play and sing most easy acoustic songs. I can even play harmonica and guitar on a few....just dont give up...it is frustrating at first, but the moment you can put those chords together and it sounds like your favorite song it will be completely worth it.

Watch plenty of YouTube videos on guitar or piano. I've been playing bass for almost 8years now and I learned by watching lessons on YouTube

If you're serious about it and practice, teaching yourself to play the guitar is not that difficult.

Piano would be the best place to start as it allows you to visualize what you're playing.

seriously if you really want to play the piano you can become, at least to the point where you aren't just banging on keys, in about 2-3 months.
i taught myself how to play the piano litarlly, by cutting on the raido and banging keys on my little electric keyboard i had got for chritmas. af ew months later i actually had figured out how to put together chords so my mom went and got me a real electirc piano. next thing you k now i was memorizing chruch songs and playing them when i got home. by the time i was 15 i was playing at church.
i found that the way i learned how to play the piano is best, at least to me. you develop your own unique style and you develop pitch; you aren't just playing keys because that's what they tell you to play, you learn to think / ablib on your feet better
lol jazz was a different story though. i actually have to work at that but still i know what i am hearing. it's just a matter of playing it.
