Been doing some reading on Panama. Looks like they have done a lot to attract retired Americans.

I have lived overseas 5 of the last 7 years. Once my daughters grandparents are gone, I am considering giving up citizenship and establishing base in Asia or Dubai. Doesn't pay to live abroad just to get away from idiotic democratic/republican politics. They will always use tax money to pander to their bases, instead of being men/women who make the right decisions for the good of the country, and not to pander for votes to say in power. EU is even more messed up. I have a friend from UK living here and is spending £3,000 / month for his mothers cancer treatment under their national health pan. As treatment under the UK national health/insurance care doesn't consider cancer urgent and requires a 18 month wait. An if you are elderly and choose to be put in an extended care facility from the government, they confiscate you house and sell it to pay for the medical expenses. Transfer the house/assets to kids, better do it 7 years prior to getting sick, or they will take the asset from your offspring to cover your expenses. America isn't the same as when I was younger, and it's disappointing, but it is still alot better than the UK and EU.

2010
quote:
Cost of living breakdown for Panama City Considering the many upsides to life here, you might expect the cost of living in Panama City to be prohibitively high. Not so… For a two-person household in Panama City, a water bill will rarely exceed $14 a month. In the past five years, my monthly phone bill has rarely exceeded $10 a month. I pay about $25 a month for wireless high-speed Internet that powers my laptop and my dad’s computer. Monthly mortgage payments can be as little as $400 a month, while rentals can be found from $550 to $1,200 a month.
where's the savings from here? just move more rural America and stay out of the bigger cities...

I have a very hard time believing people will pack up and leave their country because they're pissed about an election. People have the right to be upset. I sure as hell didn't want Obama to win. But for the vast majority of people threatening to leave, it's just lip service.

shit, I was thinking this way before I even heard of Obama get a couple rentals bringing in $800+/month each...management company takes their cut+some maintainance....live off $1000+? The operative word is "live" off $1000/month....Nicaragua seems to be a place you can. I got enough to at least take a 4 year vacation there.

From an image I can't figure out how to display Australia has universal health care, compulsory voting, no guns, no death penalty, pro-choice when it comes to contraception, openly gay politicians and judges, evolution is taught in all schools, and our female PM is an unmarried atheist. LINK

It makes sense to me. The issue is homogeneous culture. Public school and charity are okay if they're white

It's a TOURISM video. Of course it makes it look good. Nothing against them, though. But I like it just fine in the U.S.A.

Assuming you're serious, skin color and culture are two different things. Culturally, how much do you REALLY have in common with a white Australian? Secondly, there are blacks living in Australia (of African descent), in addition to the Aborigine population.

See spending in "good school districts"....you ever hear about conservatives complaining about why the kids need new books?
