I have had the opportunity to hunt with the 870 a couple times and no complaints. I have not held or shot the nova. It seems there are a lot more 870's on the market and lower in price so it would be easier to get a good deal on one.
What specs do y'all recommend?
Barrel length - if it matters I'm 6-1 210
Shell size capacity
Interchangeable chokes
Or anything other things I should consider

mine is smooth bore and i have not shot a deer with it yet...i am researching what ammo to use right now for that application...i inherited it from my late father in law...we shot it at my in laws house when i got it and I loved it...

I prefer 26 inch

Barrel- get whatever length feels better
Chamber-3" so you aren't tempted to waste money on bazooka shells.
Chokes- screw in a modified and kill everything.
