Jeans and Jacket at Galatories???

Some guys i play bball with said jeans and a sport coat are acceptable for a thursday lunch at Galatories. I have not been lately and wasn't sure if they were correct. Both guys go there a lot and are professional business people. Would this be acceptable for a Thursday lunch?

Not sure if they would let it slide or not. You really arent required to have a jacket at lunch either.
I certainly wouldnt do it becasue I wouldn't want to look like a dumbass. That said, when i go it is on Fridays. Though I doubt the lunch dress code is any different.

I know a jacket is required for dinner, not lunch. Jeans...ehh. I'm not positive, but I think it should slide for lunch. Just make sure they are nicer jeans and not some beat up old 501s.

If you're wearing a decent shirt and a jacket, you can probably get in with nice jeans based upon my experience at lunch.

I've never understood if one is so on the fence about what to wear, why not choose what you know will be acceptable, i.e., just put on some damn pants instead of jeans for lunch, and be done with it.

I'll add a different take, although I agree with YA.
If you do Galatoire's lunch correctly you are going to be sitting in an uncomfortable chair for at least 4 hours. Wear jeans and you will have an absolute awful case of swamp arse.
