Has there ever been a season with so many underperforming RBs?

Besides Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice, and Foster, every other running back seems really unreliable this year. I don't remember it being this bad.

Anyone else think this?

To name a few.

Murray
MJD
Sjax
Fjax
McFadden
McCoy
Charles
Mathews
Sproles

Why do people keep listing the #5 RB as some sort of disappointment

McCoy isn't dominating like he is capable of. His touchdowns are saving his value though, but the yardage is pretty bad for a top 4 pick.

I picked McCoy at #4 and am happy with his production (PPR). Lynch has been pretty consistent too.

He hasn't been Rice/Foster good.. but he has been very consistent from a fantasy standpoint. I am not upset picking him #4 overall.

ETA: PPR league. IDK what he is doing in non-PPR

Yet another reason to pay for a top QB. They are simply more reliable.

Was not a first round pick, second at earliest... and he's injured... Yet he's underperforming?

When my top player shits the bed, he will still score 20 points. When your top player could get like 5.

Who do you speak of? Mr. Rodgers? I do not think people actually get it. There are 9 Quarterbacks that put up 18 to 22.9 a game. That is not much of a spread between 9 quarterbacks in terms of value. If you are talking about consistency, then Rodgers is not who you want. He has 3 out of 8 games below 13 points. That also means almost the entire league will have equal status at quarterback. The factor that separates the winners from losers is the running backs. Yea, they may not get as many points per game with a running back, but those who draft qbs in the first three rounds are just limiting their chances at getting a consistent.

He is coming off of an ACL injury. He is playing better than I expected. If you expected more from him, then you are obviously underperforming.

He's scored under 10 points 5 of the 8 games. That's better than you expected? A 1st/2nd rd pick? Lol. Pretty sure everyone expected way better.

He tore his acl 10 weeks before Adrian Peterson. That's not an excuse. It obviously didn't bother him against the Saints

McCoy and DMC have been disappointing as hell in standard. DMC seems to be picking it up there because he's getting a thousand touches, but McCoy is only good in ppr when he's getting 5-7 catches for 25yds AND a TD.

Yeah, no.

In a PPR league with 6 point TD, the difference in QB's is bigger than RB's.

1. Drew Brees - 28.96 ppg
5. Tom Brady - 24.98 ppg
10. Andy Dalton - 19.92 ppg

1. Arian Foster - 20.86 ppg
5. Doug Martin - 16.67 ppg
10. Jamaal Charles - 15.09 ppg

The difference between the top QB/RB and the fifth best QB/RB is roughly five points apiece. However, the gap gets strung out because the drop from Brady to Dalton is 5 ppg, while Martin to Charles is only about 1.5 ppg. The myth of there is more of a difference between the top RB is simply false. The drop off is bigger among QB's. Unless you own Rice or Foster, you have a pretty small difference between your RB.

Put it this way, the gap from Brady to Dalton is roughly the same as the gap from Adrian Peterson (3rd ranked RB) to Michael Turner (21st ranked RB). Look at the facts before you post your false arguments.

Your post is pointless, what you completely fail to acknowledge is that Charles was probably drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round of most leagues while Dalton may have gone undrafted or definitely super late. Thus the person who went Foster+Dalton ALSO I repeat ALSO has a 2nd rd pick!

The person who went Brees+Charles has a 12th rd pick if you are trying to make a comparison to the above situation.

What would you rather have: Brees+Charles+12th rd pick or Foster+2nd rd pick+Dalton????

You have to look at WHERE these people are drafted, it isn't a simple points:points comparison, it is all about VALUE.
