Some have even latched onto other teams (usually Bama) and become "fans" of that team.
Those same people were "fans" of Texas ~2005, and when they were kids they were FSU/Miami/Michigan/Notre Dame "fans" during the 80's.

They don't have a true team, it's just go with the popular choice. When I talk to somebody like this, I rarely ever discuss sports with him/her because it's pointless and almost always invariably turns into an "LSU sucks" conversation.

I have a friend of friends on Facebook who I suspect is this way. She always comments when my friends start a status about LSU. She claims to be a Bama fan even though she has probably never left the state if Louisiana. She also calls LSU "LSUX" which is about the most clever thing I've ever seen.

i know a number of people like this. they were all lsu when we won nc but now they make sure to point out how lsu sucks when we lose a game. they are bama fans now and houston texan fans where they were lsu and dallas cowboy fans earlier. it is something in their makeup that requires them to be a "fan" of a championship team. they are pitiful excuses of sportsdom. don't waste time with them. i have a neighbor like that; actually calls me or texts me negative lsu stuff and the guy is not even a football fan. i quit answereing his calls and texts.
