Quick stats off of yahoo... bama's opponents offensive rankings and who they got them against. not the most high powered o's in the nation. these teams could pad anyone's stats..

Team (record) Rush - Pass - Scoring
Michigan(5-2) 23 - 111 - 54
W. Kent(5-2) 43 - 77 - 48
Arkansas(3-4) 107 - 18 - 69
Flor. Atl(1-6) 105 - 105 - 119
Ole miss(4-3) 31 - 73 - 43
Missouri(3-4) 106 - 95 - 78
Tenn(3-40 61 - 34 - 36

Total record of teams they beat: with best win
Michigan (13-23): Mich. St. (4-4) 12-10
West Kent. (10-27): Ark. St. (5-3) 26-13
Arkansas (6-16): Auburn (1-6) 24-7
Florida At. (4-3): Wagner (4-3) 7-3
ole miss (10-20): Central Ark. (6-2) 49-27
Missouri (13-8): Arizona St. (5-2) 24-20
Tenn (7-16): NC St. (5-2) 35-21

plus the fact bama has not had to play for a whole game yet?
We roll...

They are very good, but they have a fricking easy schedule.

Nice to look at stats but game film provides much more real information. Bama has a very good team one that easily can win a NC. We will need to be balanced to win this game.

Bama probably isn't as good as most of the nation thinks but they are very, very good. I am a little disappointed in Metts decision making to date. This is the area we need the most improvement to beat bama, imho.

don't kid yourself, bama is a very good team. they haven't played a very tough schedule, but they are still very good, and our offense hasn't been able to pass the ball very well against teams like towson, aTm, auburn, ect.

they got their ranking from being coached by the best in the business. As for not having to play a whole game yet, that's because Saban doesn't pussyfoot anymore and allow inferior opponents to stay with them into the fourth quarter.

I did this last year before the regular season game. And then included what each team held their opponents to compared to their season average.

I posted the results in this thread.

I will probably do it again this year.

I don't understand why some of our fans feel compelled to find reasons to make bama look weak. They have dominated every team they have played over the last 2 years except for LSU in Tuscaloosa. I don't care who they have played because they show up and dominate every week. They will dominate State. They are fricking good. We will have to play better than we have to beat them.

Well, it's better than just stating they are going to blow us out.

Chavis does not coach for bama.

I am not going to say that the diatoms don't have a good defense but LSU has a better defense. Nipping their heels in stats with a tougher schedule so far AND considering our offense doesn't help our defensive numbers. Consider that and they should be way ahead of us in stats.

Admitting the truth that bama looks great is not admitting defeat.

Post our stats on offense and our opponents. Works both ways.

Don't kid yourself, Bama is probably the best team in the SEC right now.

tl;dr stats don't mean shite.
