Turnpike troubadours are the best doing it right now

that's debatable, and I love TT

If you check out Pat Green, get anything before Three Days

It depends on what kind of country music you want. The music made by groups like Turnpike Troubadours and American Aquarium is nothing like Owen Temple, or Max Stalling, or Dub Miller, but Owen and Max and Dub have some fantastic country music.

Bruse Robison > Charlie Robison

check out some older albums from Cross Canadian Ragweed and Jason boland and the Stragglers

The Damn Quails are fantastic

Hayes Carll is a great story teller and song writer, as is James McMurtry

Phil Pritchett is one of the most under-rated Texas artists around

Robert Earl Keen is the gold standard

I wore out Roger Creager's first two albums

Ryan Bingham, of course

Stoney Larue may have the best vocals in Texas

Walt Wilkins might be the nicest guy in Texas music

Well yea of course it is. Any statement regarding music that states "such and such is the best" always needs to be taken as personal taste.

I just personally feel like they are putting out better country music at this time than anyone else.
