He said the Parish Attorney’s Office asked him to delete the item.

Addison said he sponsored the item because the permit fees would have funded additional enforcement positions in the Alcoholic Beverage Control office, while the high cost would have prevented most bars from being able to participate.

I've got a friends in NOLA that don't get the BR bar scene at all. If anything you would think they would want bars to be open at 4am

Talk about a strange coalition of polar opposites speaking against the measure: a gentleman from the Nation of Islam and an older lady who stated over and over again that consumption of alcohol is against Christian values. Both spoke of faith-based morals. . .yet I couldn't imagine either one sitting next to each other and having any conversation about their respective faiths.
All in all, a great day for BR, particularly for us non-natives who have (willingly or unwillingly) stayed in BR after graduating from LSU and Southern.
