But it probably has one of those settings. I'm getting a brand new receiver b/c the fricktard that was installing it couldn't understand that there was a way to test if it was the receiver or if it was something else.

If this one does it, i'll take it into my own hands and solve it

Also, check for HDMI pass thru. If the receiver turns off, you can still get your HDMI video signal to your TV, but you would lose the sound, unless your TV speakers were on.

I'd be willing to bet that your auto-standby is on. What model Denon do you have?
