Have to go down to Cameron for work on Thursday. Any decent places for lunch along the way or in Cameron?

Stop at the Rabideaux's store prior to LC and load up on boudin and cracklings.

What exit are you taking? In the town of Cameron, the only thing they have since the storms is a little place operated out of an industrial trailer that serves place lunches, burgers and seafood. No one can afford to build anything to code. It's called GiGi's. It often takes a while.

Instead, I would suggest eating at T-Boy's in Creole right before the red light where you turn to go to Cameron. Good burgers, seafood, etc. Rabideaux's at exit 44 also has good plate lunches, boudin balls and the like.

Are you going down there for court?

I came down to Louisiana after Rita and worked offshore for a while. The area of Cameron was total unlit bit of real estate. The images of it on the tube were a total waste land. The rigs in the Gulf were hammered and going out was a trip to do at night. The rigs were dark and it was only on the radar that they existed.

I stayed many a month in the Cameron Inn in the 80's... Eating place kinda next door had a room on one side that was little tables, chairs, and a room on the other side with table cloths, nicer chairs, etc... Same menu, just more spensive...

Pogie Plant smell across the street would come under the doors of hotel rooms... Took a while to get used to it..

You're talking about Pat's Fried Chicken/Fine Dining. I spent a lot of time there as a kid.

My grandpa used to always tell me that it smelled like money. There's only one plant now and it's not very active these days.

Go to T-boys in Cameron. Great food. Where are you gonna be around in Cameron?

Order the gumbo or crawfish potato.

Gotcha. Let me know if you ever need anything down there. I'm in court there a lot. Pro tip: cops won't stop you for anything less than 68 in the 55 MPH zones.
