I liked it, even though traveling anywhere was a chore. Multiplayer was seriously underrated.

If the world design is anything like Far Cry 2 I will not buy it. Terrible. Just terrible. I paid $3 for it on steam and felt ripped off. Driving was really clunky. Malaria BS. Bad weapon mechanics. The list goes on. Far Cry 1 was great. Far Cry 2 not so much.
Far Cry could take some hints from Just Cause 2.

Far Cry 2 was such a mess. Clear out that checkpoint of bad guys? Too bad they re spawn if you turn your back! Want to drive to the next mission? Too bad you will be shot by anything that moves along the way! Drive all the way to the southern area for a mission? Too bad the next one is all the way in the north!

I should also add that I am looking forward to playing Far Cry 3. The lead developer basically came out after FC2 released and admitted that the aforementioned complaints were bad design decisions so I think they have shown a willingness to learn from mistakes and make improvements. All of the developer commentary and previews seem to indicate that it will be a quality game.

I found FC2 to be really difficult. I couldn't figure out why if I cleared a checkpoint how enemies would take it back over. Or like someone else said, if you kill them and turn your back, poof they're back. And God forbid you try a mission...you get detected from thirty miles away.
Other than the actual plot, I loved driving around and looking for animals. FC3 is supposed to make more sense and the environment is looking awesome and alive. But, I'll just wait and see...I'm thinking about it.

You know that when the xbl advertisements are so obscene that you can't watch them with young children, the actual game will be real bad.
The game is intriguing but it looks like a NC-17 version of a max Payne story mixed with some matrix (what is reality?) Stuff.

Not representative of the story, sounds like your idea might be better though

Have the first two and couldn't get into them. Crysis 3 has my attention more than this game.

I'm also more of a Crysis fan and am eagerly awaiting Crysis 3. Far Cry 2 was nothing special, and that's being kind. But the first game was very good.

I wish they would just remake Instincts for the 360. That game had one of the best online multiplayers I have ever played.

I watched the 13 min gameplay video on gamespot and enjoyed.
