Saturday night was my first time to eat there and the gumbo was awesome. i asked for the recipe but of course the respectfully declined to give it to me. my thing is i make gumbo every year and mine tastes no where like theirs. To me it seemed to have a oyster broth in it but not sure. Anyone got a ny suggestions on what it could have been or what i could add to mine?

Why not just start a thread here and ask these people how to cook a gumbo? I'm sure one or two would help you out.

There were several threads on gumbo last week. They probably use the oyster liquor in it along with shrimp/crab stock, but I haven't had it in a while and it wasn't really my cup of tea when I did.
