arod is my least favorite yankee of all time, beating out carl pavano
That's pretty ridiculous. The dude has 2 MVPs as a Yankee. He led them to the playoffs a couple times and they dont have that 2009 championship without him.
Pavano was too much of a pussy to even step onto the field. frick that dude.

How the frick are they going to take A-Rod out and leave Granderson in?
its quite simple actually, grandy is a good outfielder. arod is an average 3rd baseman.
grandy has looked just as bad as arod this series, but like others have mentioned, he still has the capability to hit home runs. im not sure arod does anymore.

Take both out.
Home runs aren't working this series.

arod is such a smug douchebag tool, i dont know how anyone can like him. also, he is probaly the least clutch player i have ever seen wear the pinstripes in my 35 years on this earth(tex is a close 2nd).

Is this a bigger slap in the face than Torre batting him eighth in the lineup against the Tigers in the 2006 ALDS?

Father Time is undefeated.
Yeah, he's 36.* The fact he's still this good at 36 is actually pretty impressive.
This reeks of panic. Hopefully, the O's can take advantage.
*A-Rod. Not Father Time, who is much older.

no, he was at a different point of his career then. he won an mvp in 05 and 07.

Defensive metrics actually have him as the worst defensive CF in baseball by a good bit.
Arod is 21st out of 30 at 3B for players with over 600 innings played at 3B

nope. That was a slap in the face since he was productive for most of that season if memory serves
he's been crap most of the season, not a slap but Baloo could be right, this might be a panic move and it bites them, hope so

They did, but dude is pushing 40. I'm not sure how many people expect him to be hitting like he's 25.
His contract says he should be, but reality says otherwise.

I dunno about panic just because guy coming in has been productive this season. Probably a bit more productive than guy he is replacing.

well I see your point but as someone else said, ARod has hammered Hammels most of his career might be the right time to NOT sit him
good fodder till gametime if nothing else since I can't share my Cardinals hate with Cards fans anymore

This!!!!! He's hitting .364 with 4 HR's against Hammel in 22 ABs. Why in the hell would you sit him today?

if it works, who cares.
was it panic when raul pinch hit for him and won the game?
Posted on 10/12/12 at 2:18 pm to Bho
This year he is 2/9 3 walks 2 strikeouts and 0 extra base hits against Hammels

From an article I just read about this
quote:
Rodriguez is 8-for-24 with four HRs against Orioles starter Jason Hammel, but more recent history appears to take precedent: most of those numbers were put up before 2009, and all nine of his postseason Ks have come against righties.
Posted on 10/12/12 at 2:23 pm to etm512
Well if you look at his career stats against Hammel, he only has 22 ABs. He has 4 BBs and 9 RBI. .909 Slg and 1.371 OPS.
ETA:Oh, and his replacement is hitting a nice .167 career vs. Hammel

I'm not correcting you over the BA I was just stating that the article was claiming most of that productivity was prior to 2009
