So what are the scenarios for next week moving on to the hex?

At times I think we would be better off sending the U-23s to games like this (without Caleb Porter coaching, of course). Playing disciplined soccer is almost a disadvantage against most CONCACAF teams.

My thing about Klinsmann was that I hoped he could come in and change the culture. Get us thinking and playing progressively. The problem is that he doesn't have the players. I like Jurgen's philosophy more than Bob's, but Bob is the better man for THIS job.

I'm thrilled with the points, just can't believe those playing conditions, and am disappointed in the individual players. Hopefully JK learned something, but don't give me this Bob nonsense. What collection of players would he have brought in that would have scored more than 2 on that field?
I think we're all forgetting just how much Landon did for Bob. It's not like we have a lot of players of that quality, and LD has done ZERO for JK.

We have to wait for the Guatemala-Jamaica result to know more. A win or tie will get us through. If Guatemala and Jamaica tie, a loss would mean that we're out. If one of those teams wins, we could lose and still advance on goal differential. I think it's a safe assumption that Jamaica will get 3 points at home to A&B in the next game.

IMO, I don't think our culture was bad when JK took over. Bob and US Soccer changed a lot of things for the better. They were moving the right direction. I even thought Thomas Rongen did a pretty good job, all things considering. He did frick up the Subotic thing, but whatever.

Sacha should have been brought on much earlier. Jones is a dumbass.

but I never remember playing a game where we just passed the ball back and forth along the backline.
klinsmann loves the Spanish game, and we all understand why. You've got to have the players. Then again, I think he knows this, I think he's taken to über extreme the concept of maintaining dominion of the ball, and it's not totally applicable here. It is however, important, no matter the technical qualities of the side. Very important.

What doesn't make sense is the unbridled nervousness to get to goal ipso facto there at the end. It hampered them, and once simple surface passes and five to eight yard loops were orchestrated, things began to change. I for one, see that as a general acclimatization of the players, and not Jurgey weighing in, which is frankly sad.

CONCACAF play is built for plodding forwards Connor Caseys and Brian Chings and uninspiring hustle defenders (and all around badasses) like Frankie Hejduk.

Get the right results away, get out of there ASAP.

Yes and Yes. I wasn't a huge Sacha fan when he was first getting capped, but he has really grown on me.

I have a feeling Jones will turn into that lovable idiot that everyone just has to accept...well maybe without the lovable part.

Holy shite!!! Late to the party. I'm drunk and a little more grown now. What a fricking beast.

- As yall said, that field was utter shite. Wouldnt be surprised if they had the sprinklers on before it rained
- Am I the only one happy Jones cant play in the next game? He is just not good
- GAM was the fricking man tonight. Clutch performace
- Another good outing from Bradley. On a field like that he did exceptionally well holding the ball and making a few nice balls forward (the 1-2 to GAM in the first half was nice). Also liked how he was about to kill a MFer in the 2nd half. Hopefully his fire will rub off a little
- Gomez had his worst game in the shirt. 2 AWFUL touches in the box threw away 2 beautiful chances
- Gordon came in and did what he was supposed to. Have to respect that
- frick Mexico

I didn't get to see the majority of the game...but, everyone is bashing him. So his ankle injury is bothersome ?

Who are you talking about? Jones? He came on in the 2nd and immediately got a really stupid booking.

i want to see corona play, i thought he should have played tonight. Gomez is not a starting XI player, i have no idea why he has been starting. he is a 65 minute sub. he occasionally start games when you need someone to fill, but other than that i never looked at him as XI
