And no you dont need a passing threat. You need felix jones and mcfadden.

Or ronnie brown

We should have implemented or been experimenting on the Warecat package all offseason and now anytime Ware was healthy. I just had an idea to run Ware, Magee, and Shep in the wildcat/triple option. All can throw, but Ware has been known to throw in college, so he'd stay at the QB role. When you roll for the option, you have the chance to pitch, or pass to two different WRs that you have running routes in your direction. Also if we pass enough it could set up delayed runs to the other backs and it could have been like having a mobile QB without actually having one. This option type package would have negated some of the shortcomings on the OL because we have three different players back there who could throw a pass.

I'm a big Spencer Ware fan but it seems we have other guys who are better suited to run the wildcat, ie. Shepard, Magee, Randall, the Penn State transfer...
It's not hard to put in a wildcat package and use it occasionally throughout the game.
Just do it and let's get the damn offense going !

Ware played QB in high school right? Shep played QB in high school right? Ware QB, Shep in motion, either could pass. It would really frick with the defense. Ford could be the RB for the option play... OMG WE'RE ON TO SOMETHING BIG FOLKS

Spot on. 2 men that have exhausted their rhetoric and lip service and followed it up with excuses and unintelligible speech for the past 4 yrs- Miles & Obama. Stop teasing us with possibilities and ideas, and fking follow through.

Problems have nothing to do with the RBs

Yeah, probably one play. This offense has no identity.

Even if Les does run it, he'll frick it up some kind of way. He'll probably use Copeland or Clement as the motion man.

But the other point of the thread was to ask if you think it will be successful and/or do you need a legitimate passing threat to run the wildcat?

I would consider Ware to be a very legit passing threat. With the number of times he has thrown the ball, he should get more respect as a passer than 99% of any wildcat QB's in college today.

It's going to be some Les speak for the situations never developed conducive to running the formation

I just don't understand why miles doesn't take his death grip off the offense

steve getting parkinsons was really a game changer
